Dear Sir/ Madam:
Recently, remarkable results have been achieved in the teaching and learning of English in Sino-Foreign Joint Educational Ventures and Programs through down-to-earth exploration and innovation. These ventures and programs provide students a unique and innovative pathway in acquiring second language skills much more quickly and efficiently, supported by an international learning environment and high-quality curriculum. Unlike traditional university-level public English courses or English major programs, English teaching and learning in Sino-Foreign Joint Educational Ventures and Programs aims to simultaneously build students’ academic learning skills and language proficiency while placing strong emphasis on cultivating students’ cross-cultural communication skills.
To further explore and develop a new paradigm of English teaching and learning that suits the characteristics of Sino-Foreign Joint Educational Ventures and Programs, and to facilitate international educational exchanges and cooperation, we are delighted to announce that Beijing-Dublin International College at Beijing University of Technology and Centre for English and Global Languages of University College Dublin will jointly host the International Symposium on English Teaching and Research in Sino-Foreign Joint Education 2025 from November 21st to 23rd, 2025 at SCI-TECH Building (formerly Grand Gongda Jianguo Hotel) at Beijing University of Technology.
With the theme “Teaching for the Future—A New Paradigm of English Teaching in Sino-Foreign Joint Educational Ventures and Programs”, the Symposium will address a broad range of key topics, including curriculum innovation, educational technology, teacher development, assessment systems, and intercultural communication within joint educational frameworks.
The Symposium will feature keynote speeches and panel discussions across three thematic areas within the context of Sino-Foreign Joint Education: EAP Teaching and Cross-Cultural Competence, AI-Enhanced Innovation in English Language Education, and English Teacher Development and Collaboration.
Around 150 attendees, including Sino-Foreign joint venture or program managers, native speaking and Chinese English instructors, linguistic scholars and experts and etc. from home and abroad are expected to participate in this Symposium.
